Winter might be over but that doesn’t mean the fun is! From a thrilling via ferrata cliffside free fall to beautiful scenic hikes, and relaxing hot springs there’s still tons of fun to be had. Here are just a few spring activities to do in and around Breckenridge Colorado.
Via Ferrata
For the adventure seekers out there check out the so exciting activity known as, Via Ferrata. With locations about an hour away from Breckenridge in Idaho Springs and Buena Vista. Try out the exhilarating 50 foot cliffside free fall in Idaho Springs. Both locations offering suspension bridges, zip lining, and rappelling. All with no experience necessary!
Spring Skiing
Love skiing but hate the cold? Try spring skiing! Winter may be over but the resorts are still open and full of fun terrane to explore! Breckenridge, Keystone, and Arapahoe, Basin are all open well into the spring.
Restaurants With A View
Looking for somewhere to eat with a beautiful view of the mountains and tons of flowers? Try the Angels Hollow patio one Breckenridge’s best kept secrets! Located at 113 S Ridge St the patio at Angel’s Hollow is lined with beautiful flowers that the humming bird just love and you will too! Try one of their famous bloody mary’s or margaritas you won’t be disappointed. Maybe outside dining isn’t your thing try Traverse Restaurant And Bar located at the lodge in Breckenridge. Sitting on the hill across from the ski resort you’ll feel like you’re on top of the world. With the walls fully windowed you’ll be looking at Breckenridge’s breathtaking mountains while a drink or a bite to eat.
Hikes and Drives
Lookout mountain located in Golden, Colorado offers easy hiking, beautiful views, a picnic area, history and education. Check out the Discovery Corner and Observation Room and the Lookout Mountain Nature Center & Preserve with interactive exhibits with tons of fun for both kids and adults! For a drive with beautiful views and hikes check out Boreas Pass. Boreas Pass goes north from the town of Como to Breckenridge with breathtaking views and hiking along the way. Another beautiful pass to drive is Independence Pass located midway between Aspen and Twin Lakes.
Hot Springs/ Mineral Springs
There’s no better way to relax then a trip to the springs! For a more spa like
experience try Indian Hot Springs! Conveniently located in Idaho Springs at 302 Soda Creek Rd you can relax after a day of Via Ferrata. Enjoy the mineral water swimming pool with temperatures between 90°F and 100°F surrounded by live flowers, banana and palm trees making this a tropical get away in the mountains! Or check out their geo-thermal caves, outdoor jacuzzis, indoor private baths, and my personal favorite the club mud.
